T-Bar & Acoustical Ceilings

Suspended ceiling systems for commercial, office, retail and multi-unit projects — installed level, square and done right.

Commercial Ceilings

Suspended Ceilings
Done Properly

A T-bar ceiling looks simple — but a poorly installed grid shows immediately. Tiles that don't sit flat, grid that's not level, lights that don't align with the grid pattern, perimeter trim that's not consistent. These are the failures that reflect badly on the whole project.

LR Contracting installs suspended ceiling systems for commercial office fit-outs, retail renovations, medical and dental offices, schools, warehouses and multi-unit residential common areas. We set the grid level using laser equipment, align the grid to the space layout (not arbitrarily), and install all fixtures in the correct grid openings.

We also do drywall soffits and bulkheads alongside T-bar systems — the combination of suspended tile areas with drywall feature elements is our everyday commercial work.

Laser-Level Every Time
What We Install

Our T-Bar Scope

Standard T-Bar Grid

2x2 and 2x4 suspended ceiling grid systems. Main tees, cross tees, wall angles and hanger wires all installed to manufacturer specs. Grid levelled with laser equipment.

Acoustical Tile Supply & Install

Standard Armstrong and CGC acoustical tile in a range of sizes, patterns and NRC ratings. Specialty tiles for higher sound absorption in conference rooms, boardrooms and classrooms.

Light Fixture Layout

Grid layout coordinated with your reflected ceiling plan so light fixtures, diffusers and sprinkler heads land in the correct grid locations. We don't just put the grid where it's easiest — we put it where it looks right.

Drywall Soffits & Bulkheads

Many commercial jobs combine T-bar field areas with drywall soffits at the perimeter or around structural elements. We do both in the same scope — one contractor, one schedule, one invoice.

Specialty & Feature Ceilings

Curved soffits, cloud panels, linear wood-look systems, concealed grid systems for a cleaner look. We install specialty ceiling products for higher-end commercial and hospitality applications.

Tile Replacement & Repairs

Damaged or stained acoustical tiles replaced. Grids re-levelled after building movement. We also do partial ceiling installations where an existing grid is being extended into a new area.

Common Questions

T-Bar & Acoustical FAQ

What's the standard grid size?

2x4 is the most common grid size for offices and retail — cost-effective and works with most standard light fixtures. 2x2 is used in boardrooms and spaces where a more refined look is desired. We can also do metric grid systems.

Do you supply the tiles and grid?

Yes — supply and install is our standard approach. We source from Armstrong, CGC and other quality manufacturers. If your project has a specified product we'll source it or confirm it's compatible with our installation scope.

Can you work around existing mechanical and electrical?

Yes. Suspended ceilings in commercial spaces always have to work around HVAC, sprinklers, lighting and data cabling. We coordinate the grid layout with existing or new mechanical before starting.

How long does a T-bar installation take?

A typical 5,000 sq ft commercial floor takes 2–4 days for grid and tile installation, depending on complexity. We'll give you a timeline with your quote.

Do you do the drywall walls in the same project?

Yes — most of our commercial T-bar jobs include the drywall partition walls in the same scope. We're a full drywall contractor, not just a ceiling installer. One contractor for the whole interior scope keeps the schedule tight.

Can you match existing ceiling tile in a renovation?

Often yes. If the existing tile is a current product we can match it. Discontinued tile is harder but we'll try to source NLA stock. Bring the tile manufacturer and product name when you contact us.
